Laser Hair Removal SALE
If you are interested in receiving LHR, we require a consultation - even if you’ve had laser before at another business. This 15 minute complimentary appointment will help determine if you are a good candidate and eligible for the service. You will have to wait 5 days before booking your first LHR appointment after this initial consultation. During the consultation appointment we will perform a patch test which will help predict any possible negative reactions you may have to LHR - although it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t experience a negative reaction during a future appointment.
What is Laser Hair removal?
Laser Hair Removal (LHR) is a non-invasive treatment designed to remove unwanted hair. The laser device works by emitting pulses of light energy that penetrate the skin and destroy hair follicles while the device's handpiece cools the surrounding skin. Because the laser needs to target the hair to work effectively, it is important not to wax, tweeze, pluck, thread, or have electrolysis for 4-6 weeks prior to the procedure. You may feel a slight burning, stinging, or pinching sensation during the procedure. It generally takes 10-21 days after the procedure for the treated hair to fall out. Treatment of dark, coarse hair generally achieves the best results while removal of light, fine hair generally requires additional treatments which may or may not be successful. Because the laser focuses on pigment, it will not work blonde, red, white or grey hair (in these cases consider electrolysis). LHR results may also vary depending on individual skin tone, hormonal levels, and hereditary influences. Therefore, some clients may experience partial results and some may notice no improvement at all. Future hormonal changes may cause additional hair growth. LHR treatment involves a series of treatments - one treatment will not effectively reduce hair. Ideal (light skin/dark hair) candidates can usually achieve 65-90% reduction with a series of 6 treatments. Thicker skinned areas such as men’s backs, faces or neck, as well as those with darker skin tones, usually require more than 6 sessions and may achieve only partial reduction or hair thinning.
Generally, you are not a good candidate for LHR if you are pregnant, nursing, or plan to become pregnant while undergoing treatment. Individuals who have used Accutane within the past 6 months, or any medications requiring limited exposure to sunlight are not good candidates. Individuals with recently tanned skin are advised to delay undergoing treatment. The laser is not effective on blonde, gray, white, or red hair. Please read the "Laser contraindications and cautions" tab for a complete list of precautions.
